With the 2025 Formula 1 Lenovo Japanese Grand Prix coming this weekend, we are yet again reminded of the ruthlessness of Oracle Red Bull Racing.

The Formula 1 giant, headed by Christian Horner and Dr. Helmut Marko (unofficially) has won the last 4 World Drivers Championships and 2 of the last 3 Constructors Championships. In large part, that is thanks to their once in a generation driver, the Dutchman Max Verstappen.

The world of Red Bull is a crazy one to get to know. From extreme sports involving supercross, boat racing, and even jumping from space, the Formula ladder is the under the biggest microscope.

Many drivers throughout the years have been apart of the Red Bull Driver academy. Names like Pato O'Ward, Dennis Hauger, Felipe Albuquerque, Karun Chandhok, and Oliver Oakes, the current Alpine F1 team principal. Amongst many, many others.

Lets just focus on Formula 1.

PIERRE GASLY: The current Alpine F1 driver joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2013. Testing and representing the Red Bull brand through his GP2 (now F2) running. Pierre would graduate to Formula 1 in 2017 at the Malaysian Grand Prix Racing with Toro Rosso (Now Visa Cash App Racing Bulls).

In 2018 Gasly would recieve a full time ride at Toro Rosso, finsihing the year with 29 points.

2019: With the departure of Daniel Ricciardo, Gasly would be promoted to the senior team to partner Max Verstappen. However, after being able to claim 6th in the drivers standings at the mid point of the year, Gasly was cut back down to the Junior team ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix. Racing only 12 short races with Red Bull.

Pierre would go on to join Torro Rosso again, and would get his first win with the newly rebranded Alpha Tauri at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Pierre to this day continues his F1 journey with Alpine, being the #1 Driver.

Alexander Albon: Having been a member of the Red Bull Driver Academy throughout his Jr. career, Albon would go on to compete his maiden F1 race in 2019, partering Danil Kvyat, the driver recentley replaced by Pierre Gasly at Red Bull.

Albon would go on to replace Gasly at the senior team that same year in Belgium.

Albon would go on to finsih the 2019 season in 8th place in the drivers championship, also recieving Rookie of the Year awards.

2020 would bring some familiarity to Red Bull, with Albon remaining on the team. He would finish the 202 season taking 2 podiums and finishing 7th in the Drivers championship.

Nyck De Vries: Having never been associated with Red Bull, DeVries was slotted to take the seat left by Gasly at Alpha Tauri in 2023. What was the dream of the successful supersub would be short lived. DeVries underperformed. He would be replaced by Daniel Ricciardo after Silverstone that year.

DeVries is now a WEC driver for Mahindra Racing.

Daniel Ricciardo: The prodigal son, Netflix's favorite driver, and BFFs with Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen. Ricciardo shared some wonderful years with Red Bull Racing, winning the Monaco Grand Prix in 2018, and 6 other races with the team.

After a some stints at Renault (now Alpine) and Mclaren, Daniel would return to the Red Bull family in 2023 as a reserve driver.

Making his retrurn to Formula1 with Alpha Tauri, replacing Nyck DeVries. Ricciardo would go on to break his hand at the Dutch Grand Prix that year, being subbed out by Liam Lawson for 6 races.Being in a backmarker car, Daniel would finish 17th in the standings.

2024: A full time seat at Alpha Tauri, the love of the world, Daniel was on top of it all. Unfortunately, contractual obligations would see the year cut short. Enter again.....Liam Lawson

Sergio Perez: The Mexican Minister of Defense, instrumental in Verstappen's 2021 championship. Sergio "Checo" Perez. Finally. The answer Red Bull needed for Verstappen. Checo was able to keep up with Verstappen. Claiming wins, poles. And an awkward win at Monaco in 2022.

Come 2023. Things would start to change. The form would fall off, the results would be sub par at times. He would continue netting podiums. But it wasn't pretty.

2024, Checo would sign a new contract. Extending his time at Red Bull for the foreseeable future. But multiple races that weren't up to standard, including crashes at Monaco and Baku. His future would be looming in the minds of everyone throughout the year.

We would ultimately be introduced at the end of the year to Red Bulls new driver, Liam Lawson.

Okay. Not new. But contracts mean something, and they didn't wanna lose him.

Liam Lawson: After some super sub performances the past 2 years. Lawson seemed like a prime candidate for 1 of the 4 F1 seats. Ultimately the decision would be made to place Liam on the senior team.

2025: Liam has dismal performances at Australia and China. And is soon demoted to the junior team, now named Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.

Yuki Tsunoda: the time has finally come. After years of sitting on the junior team, years of news reporting he may get it. Yuki will make his senior team debut at non other than his home Grand Prix. Expectations are high, but the proof is in the pudding. Or in the stats, either one.

In this episode of Red Bull guess it, Yuki is the winner. But will he prevail?
